This beginner-friendly watercolor workshop is a gentle introduction to painting, with a focus on simple florals and fauna. We’ll set up outside (plein air) on tables with our water color paper and paints and be inspired by nature! in front of floral and fauna. We’ll start with a few basics—how to use the brush, mix color, and work with the way watercolor naturally moves—then spend time painting together.
We’ll pay attention to how the paint behaves on the page, learning to work with it rather than against it. I’ll be there to guide you, but this is a relaxed, low-pressure space to experiment and get comfortable with the medium in an outdoor setting.
You’ll leave with a few small botanical studies and a better sense of how to keep going on your own. All materials are provided—just bring your curiosity.
If this is your first time using water colors please come at 10:00 so Laura can give you a few pointers before the class begins.
