Unfortunately the growing season of herbs is coming to a close in Northern NJ. But, don’t despair we can turn the last of your basil, oregano or even rosemary into herb salt that you can use all year long! If you have herbs you want to use up bring them, if not- no worries we will have plenty. This is a very easy process of grinding Himalayan pink salt with fresh herbs and then drying them in the oven. We will bring ingredients so every participant will leave with a few different salts. These are perfect for holiday baking and hostess gifts.

Are you ready to celebrate one of the most celebrated holidays? Halloween! More importantly are the furry friends in your life ready for the big night. Bring any halloween costume you have that needs to be altered or any ideas to making one along with your pets measurements (height of torso, width of chest and head size) we will help you figure it out. Feel free to send us an email with any specific needs so we can have supplies ready for you. If you have old costumes that you’d like to donate to others bring them. Sweet Potato (Sandy’s Bulldog) will be at the studio figuring out her Brittany Spears costume:)

Have you seen all the instagram photos and youtube videos around this newest/oldest craft? Using pieces of wool, felt and a few punches of a needel you can create anything! We will start with a piece of felt- bring photos of a simple object or we will provide one for you, using the wool like paint you “punch” it into the felt creating a bit of color and add on from there. An easy process that you can “erase” if you don’t like. This is a beginners class to show the basic technique, we will have follow up classes where we will be felting on sweaters. All participants will leave with a felted image that can be framed or sewn onto a pillow or bag.

Come hang out in our studio! The studio will be open every 1st and 3rd Tuesday to a dedicated hang out session. There will be fun food and members just hanging out- some working on projects, playing board games or looking through our awesome library of art books. Ever wonder what happens when you mix alcohol ink and fire? You get an amazing piece of artwork! Larisa will guide us through this exciting process that will result in gallery worthy art. FLOC will provide all the supplies, you just show up and be amazed. Every member will leave with a framed piece of artwork ready to be hung.

Have several pairs of denim that need a new life? Why not bring them to FLOC and turn them into a cute bag and learn to sew in the process. Perfect for the upcoming Fall season! A beginners class that will teach you the sewing basics of using a pattern to cut the denim, pinning and then stitching the pattern pieces using a sewing machine. If you don’t have a pair of Jeans to upcycle no worries we have you covered. You will leave class with your new denim bag perfect for the Fall!

It’s holiday time! So many holidays coming up from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah just to name a few. Your table needs to get ready- perhaps a gorgeously designed candle will get you started. Join us as Jill guides us into what surely will be a new hobby- candle decorating. These candles are easy to make with cutting simple designs out of wax sheets and attaching them to the candle using the heat of your hands! What great hostess gifts these will make! All materials included and every member will leave with a beautiful candle or two!

Join us as we get ready for the sweetest holiday of all-Halloween! I love a portable sweet that keeps my fingers clean- enter the cake pop! These sweet treats made popular by a certain coffee shop are hard to resist. We will be using a simple cake pop recipe both vanilla and chocolate, dipping them in chocolate and then decorating them with Halloween flare. Everyone will go home with their decorated cake pops-if you don’t eat them on the way!

It’s that time of year- the smell of nutmeg and mulled cider, a nip in the air FALL! My favorite season filled with colorful leaves and cozy sweaters. The Fall decor just makes your house feel homey. Carolyn has created these no sew fabulous pumpkins- so easy to customize to your liking. Our fabric supply is huge and open to you- play with solid canvas, upholstery fabrics, denim or pattern/plaid cottons. Carolyn will walk you through the process step by step. All participants will go home with a pudgie pumpkin or two and the knowlege of how to create more. The studio is always open and supplies available for you to come in after the workshop and create enough pumpkins to make a patch!

Join us as we makes three mediterranean dips that will quickly become staples in your home. We will make a quick and easy hummus, a whipped feta with honey and pomegranates and a skordalia, a Greek dip made from potatos and walnuts that is smooth and creamy and always a hit.
